Assessment & Preparation

1. Psychological Screening
& Assessment

WHO-ACCREDITED TOOLS · QUALIFIED CLINICIANS

Effective treatment begins with truly understanding the person in front of us. ARC uses WHO-accredited screening and assessment tools administered by qualified psychiatric nurses, doctors, addiction professionals and counselling psychologists. Your assessment determines the most appropriate level of care, shapes your personalised treatment plan, and establishes the baseline from which we measure your progress throughout recovery.

Understanding you fully before we begin.

2. Drug Screening and Testing

CLINICAL ACCURACY · PRECISE PLACEMENT

Accurate drug screening gives our clinicians the clinical clarity needed to design a treatment plan that is right for you. Screening complements the assessment process, helping to identify the precise nature of substance use and ensure that no aspect of your presentation is overlooked. Substances screened include alcohol, cannabis, opioids, cocaine, prescription drugs and others.

Precision that protects — and personalises.

3. Medically Supervised
Detoxification

Safe · Comfortable · Clinically managed

For many people, the first step toward freedom from addiction is physical — and it can feel daunting. Medically supervised detox at ARC is managed safely and with genuine care, under the direct supervision of our consultant psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses. We monitor you closely, manage withdrawal with clinical precision, and ensure that this critical first step is completed as comfortably as possible — laying the strongest possible foundation for everything that follows.

The safest, most supported start to your recovery.

Core Treatment

ARC’S FLAGSHIP RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMME

Eight-week Integrated Inpatient Programme

Our most comprehensive pathway to recovery

This is where transformation happens. Our eight-week residential programme brings together the world’s most proven treatment frameworks within a structured, immersive therapeutic community. It is not simply a programme to complete — it is a guided, supported turning point, delivered by a team of specialists who are invested in every step of your journey.

4. Individual & Group Psychotherapy

EVIDENCE-BASED · MULTIPLE MODALITIES

Healing requires space — space to be heard, to explore, and to understand oneself more deeply. Our clinical psychologists and counselling therapists offer both individual psychotherapy and structured group sessions throughout the programme. Modalities include cognitive-behavioural therapy, Compassionate Inquiry (trained directly under Dr. Gabor Maté), trauma-informed approaches and motivational enhancement therapy — each selected for the individual, never applied as a blanket method.

A space to explore, understand and begin again.

5. Dual Diagnosis Treatment

INTEGRATED · SIMULTANEOUS · WHOLE-PERSON

Mental health conditions and addiction rarely exist in isolation. Depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis and other conditions frequently co-occur alongside substance use — and treating one without the other is rarely enough. At ARC, dual diagnosis is embedded in the heart of our clinical approach. Both conditions are assessed and treated simultaneously by a co-ordinated team, so that nothing is missed and nothing is left untreated.

Treating the whole picture — never half of it.

6. Family Counselling & Collateral Programme

FROM INTAKE · REINTEGRATION-FOCUSED

Addiction and mental health conditions affect the whole family — not just the individual. Our dedicated Family Counsellor engages with families from the point of intake, providing guidance, psychoeducation and emotional support throughout the treatment journey. Family sessions and structured reintegration planning prepare both the patient and their loved ones for a sustainable life beyond discharge.

Because recovery is a family journey too.

7. 12-Step support & AA/NA Integration

IN-HOUSE MEETINGS · LIFELONG FELLOWSHIP

The fellowship of AA and NA is one of the most powerful forces in sustained recovery. At ARC, in-house meetings run throughout the week from Day 1 — not as an optional extra, but as a cornerstone of daily therapeutic life. Every client leaves with a confirmed home group, a local meeting schedule and, where possible, a named sponsor. Recovery does not end at discharge.

A community that continues long after you leave.

Beyond the Clinic

8. Prevention & Community
Outreach

AWARENESS · EARLY IDENTIFICATION · ACCESS

The most powerful intervention often happens before a crisis. ARC provides evidence-based education and awareness to individuals, communities, organisations and institutions about mental health, alcohol and drug use. Our outreach work reduces stigma, enables early identification and connects people to care before they reach breaking point. Prevention is not a lesser service — it is the most humane one.

Reaching people before the crisis — not only after.

9. Employee Assistance
Programme (EAP)

WORKFORCE WELLBEING · EMPLOYER PARTNERSHIP

Poor workplace performance is frequently a symptom of a deeper, treatable mental health or addiction challenge. ARC partners with employers to provide proactive, confidential EAP services — a compassionate alternative to disciplinary action or dismissal. EAP supports employees in accessing the right care at the right time, reducing risk for organisations while demonstrating genuine duty of care.

Supporting people at work — before performance becomes a crisis.

10. Professional Referrals

HEALTHCARE · INSURERS · EMPLOYERS · UNIONS

ARC works in close collaboration with healthcare providers, companies, trade unions and insurers across the region to ensure that individuals access the right level of care without unnecessary delay. Whether the appropriate placement is intensive outpatient support or full residential treatment, we work with referral partners to make the pathway as smooth and dignified as possible for the individual at the centre of it.

The right care, accessed the right way.

11. Aftercare & Relapse
Prevention

FROM WEEK 7 · PERSONALISED · ONGOING

Discharge is not the end of your care at ARC — it is a transition we prepare for together. Aftercare planning begins in Week 7, well before you leave, so that nothing is left to chance. Every departing client receives a personalised relapse prevention plan, confirmed AA/NA referrals and ongoing ARC support contacts. The goal was never just to complete a programme. It was to go home changed — and stay changed.

We plan your return home as carefully as your treatment.

Inpatient Treatment

We provide structured inpatient treatment programs and residential care aimed at delivering the most comprehensive care possible, Our Inpatient Programs provide diagnostic evaluations and comprehensive, individualized treatment for patients with serious psychiatric illnesses. We realize that patients may come to our centres for care under difficult circumstances, and we are dedicated to working together to facilitate a healthy and effective process of healing. Our approach to treatment planning involves working together with patients and families to develop recommendations for every aspect of treatment during their stay in our facility, including individual and group psychotherapy, psycho social activities, and medications. Treatment plans also include recommendations for patients to continue to manage illness after they are discharged from the centres.

Outpatient Psychiatry Clinics

Our Outpatient Clinics provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, treatment and care for patients and families whose lives have been touched by an array of mental health conditions. We treat and care for individuals in every life stage including children, adolescents and adults. The clinics also provides treatment for specialised populations including seniors, women, and patients with a co-existing medical disorders. Consultation and ongoing treatment is provided by our team of psychiatrists and psychologists. Our clinic excels in the management of a wide range of diagnoses, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, psychosis, personality disorders, grief and bereavement, and trauma. We provide individual therapy, group therapy, couples therapy, and medication management matched to patients’ treatment needs. Our clinical staff is trained in a range of short-term and long-term techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Supportive Therapy, and Compassionate Inquiry.

Family Therapy

Just as we understand that treatment is just one component in the long-term recovery process for the afflicted individual, so too do we realize that family members may benefit from ongoing support as they deal both with their own issues and the challenges posed by their loved one’s disorder and recovery. The more the family is involved in the recovery process, the greater the opportunity for successful treatment outcomes.

Aftercare

Throughout the treatment stay, our multidisciplinary team works with patients todevelop an individualized aftercare plan. This can include continuing treatment in an outpatient facility, where individual and group therapy sessions are held on a regular basis. Attending private individual counselling can also be highly effective at preventing relapse. Attending 12-step or other types of self-help programs is another good aftercare choice.

Employee Assistance Programs
(EAP)

We believe that a critical component of a wellness workplace program is providing assistance or support to employees who have emotional or mental health problems. Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) are generally the most effective vehicles for addressing poor workplace performance that may stem from their personal problems. EAPs are an excellent benefit to the employees and their families and clearly demonstrate employers respect for their staff. They also offer an alternative to dismissal and minimize an employer’s legal vulnerability by demonstrating efforts to support employees.

Professional Referrals

We work collaboratively with our professional partners across the country, including healthcare providers, companies and employers, unions, and insurers. With a full offering of quality programs from intensive outpatient to inpatient options, we can help you find the right treatment for each individual.

Prevention and Community
Outreach

We provide evidence-based information to individuals, community members, organizations and institutions about the use of alcohol, drugs and mental health. This is aimed at creating awareness, identifying, screening and treating individuals with signs of mental conditions. We believe that prevention works better than waiting until the problem is acute or severe.

12 Step Support Group Meetings

Self-help groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous provide a supportive community of peers, where everyone is going through a similar struggle. Though many self-help groups are part of formal treatment programs, you are encouraged to attend these groups beyond completion of the program.
