Dr. Kayongo is a Psychiatrist with a strong clinical focus on Forensic and addiction Psychiatry.
He is dedicated to improving mental health outcomes through evidence based interventions, research, rehabilitation, community mental health and advocacy.
Dr. Kayongo is also an Associate Consultant Psychiatrist at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital where he engages in clinical management of people with mental health challenges including those with substance use Disorders and addiction, mentorship of medical students, graduate medical students and graduate Nursing students.
He is also an alumni of Mbarara University of Science and Technology. His research interests include aggression among people with mental illness including those with substance use Disorders.
He has a passion for mental health care provision and is committed to advancing mental health care through biological and psychosocial approaches such as rehabilitation.
